REV3 Cedar Point 2014 – The Jack Report

All year I look forward to the Rev3 Cedar Point 70.3 race. It is my priority race of the season and my goal to have a good day on the course. Because it is a big race, my parents make the trip to Ohio as well, so it is a great excuse for some family time as well. This year was even more special as it was the first time my in-laws were able to see me in an event, and that was great. However, even though I was racing and ready to go after it on Sunday, I was not the main event of the year…

Catching Up On Lost Time

Life is and always will be a balancing act between many things. For me its running our business, spending time with the kids, training, being a good husband, and any number of other day to day activities. Something had to give, and so the blog had to take a break while we focused on the other aspects of our life. Now we are back and ready to hopefully help motivate and inspire.

Over the past few months so many of my friends and family have started pushing themselves to live a healthier life style. They are shedding pounds, feeling better, loving life more than ever and doing fantastic. I am so proud of all of you for your hard work, dedication and accomplishments. Keep up the good work.

I am very excited for this coming year. Here are a few goals I have set for myself.
• Shave 10 minutes off of my Galena Triathlon time.  Finish around 1:46:00
• Finish in the top 50 of the Lake In The Hills Sprint Triathlon. Finish around 1:33:00
• Finish in the top 100 of the Lake Zurich Olympic Triathlon. Finish around 2:40:00
• Run in my first marathon. Finish around 4:00:00

What are you going to do this year?

I’m Back!

The last few weeks have been very busy and crazy around the Healthy Dad house. So I apologize for the lack of posts, but I am back and ready to move forward.

Tonight my coach Diane has given me the following workout for my homework assignment.
5 Minute warm-up
Then 1 min of each of these
– jumping jacks
– push ups
– crunches
– bicep curls
– lunges
– overhead press
– squats
– plank
– triceps dip
– mountain climbers
4X, 1min rest in between complete sets

Its a workout that you don’t need a gym for and the real only resistance is your own body weight. I am passing it on to all of you to see if you would like to complete it as well. Maybe we can compare notes and comments at the end. Good luck with the work out, and don’t forget to come back in the next day or so for your April desktop calendar.
